Establishing a morning routine HAS BEEN LIFE-CHANGING!
I am much more productive, I am happier and I feel less stressed.
Believe it or not…I ACTUALLY want to wake up in the morning and look forward to my day.
Having a morning routine also is a great way to add self-care into my day.
I technically have two routines: one for heading into work and one for the weekend.
Below I have shared both morning routines.
If you want to learn more about WHY and HOW to create a morning routine, check out my post that provides step by step instructions and tips on how to create a healthy morning routine.
My Workday Morning Routine
6:15 – 6:25 – AM Wake Up
I set my alarm at 5-minute intervals just to make sure I don’t sleep through one of them. I also try to not hit snooze.
6:25 – Check on Cats Water/Food
I always make sure the cats have food and water as soon as I get out of bed.
6:30 – Drink Water, Brush Teeth, & Take Supplements
I drink 8 – 16 ounces of water EVERY morning.
This has been really helpful with waking me up as being dehydrated can make you feel groggy and tired.
Instead of reaching for coffee I HIGHLY recommend drinking water first.
Next, I take my probiotic, D-Mannose and allergy medication.
Recently, I added Dram CBD drops into my routine. I take a dropper full and place it under my tongue and then drink water to wash it down.
Then I brush my teeth and pull my hair back.

6:35 – 10 Minute Yoga
If I wake up early enough I try to get 10 minutes of yoga in.
This has been the hardest part of my routine and it’s still a work in progress.
I use the yoga app on my phone because they have a super simple 10 minute morning yoga sequence.
6:45 – Shower
After yoga, I hop in the shower so I can get ready to head into work.
Shower time is also where I go over what I need to get done that day in my head.
It’s my time to give myself a pep talk to get me in a positive mindset for the day.
7:05 – Skincare
After the shower, I follow up with my skincare routine which consists of the following:
- Moisturizer
- Eye Cream
- Sunscreen
- Body Lotion
I keep my skincare routine very simple.
I also don’t wear makeup so this helps save me time in the morning
7:10 – Hair
I am VERY low maintenance so doing my hair comes down to throwing some product in and that’s it.
No blow-drying, straightening or styling.
7:15 – Get Dressed
At this point, I start getting dressed.
I use the Cladwell closet app that takes all of your clothing items and pairs them together to style outfits for you.
I try to plan ahead and do this the night before on the app.
Planning out my outfits for the day had been the MOST significant time-saver in my morning routine.
7:25 – Grab My Stuff and Walk to the Trolley
After getting dressed I grab my lunch, jacket, and bag.
I say goodbye to my cats and head out the door to walk to the trolley to head into work.

My Weekend Morning Routine
During the weekend I like to take my time in the morning and enjoy myself. My boyfriend works most Saturdays so these are the mornings I really savor “me” time and practice self-care.
6:30 – 7:00 – Wake Up
Since it’s Saturday I am not too strict with waking up.
I try to wake up around 6:30 to keep my routine consistent with the rest of the week but sometimes I need the extra sleep.
Hang Out with Cats & Read
Some mornings I really just enjoy laying in bed cuddling with my cats and reading. Or I will watch something on YouTube.
8:00 – Water, Supplements & Cats
Like my workday routines, I check on the cat’s food and water and then take my supplements and drink water.
8:10 – Coffee, Breakfast & Planner/Goals
When I’m at home, my favorite breakfast is Kodiak Cakes protein pancakes. They are so delicious! I make these and coffee.
Then I will sit down for breakfast and get out my planner.
I write down everything that I need to get done over the weekend and what I want to do for fun.
Sometimes I will check on my finance or goal planner to update my progress.
9:00 – Yoga
After breakfast, I do a 20 – 30-minute yoga session.
I really enjoy doing this after breakfast because I am more awake and can focus on my practice.
9:30 – Shower – Get Ready
Once yoga is completed I brush my teeth and get in the shower.
Afterward, I finish with skincare and hair just like my workdays.
Then I will get dressed.
10:30 – Start My Day
At this point, my morning is over and I will start doing whatever I planned out that day.
Conclusion
Hopefully, this has inspired you to create your own morning routine and helped to give you ideas on how to curate your mornings to include self-care and productivity!
